Schizophrenia and Psychosis

These conditions are often a terrifying ordeal for those who suffer from them.  The auditory and visual hallucinations, delusions, paranoia, and the overall loss of contact with reality can be completely overwhelming and debilitating. The families of those with these conditions also suffer as they watch a loved one change and seemingly slip away from them.  The whole pattern of family life can be disrupted, leaving everyone confused and afraid.

I offer a nonmedical, psychotherapeutic approach to these conditions, based on connecting to the client with empathy and understanding.  Such a relationship can be healing to those who suffer in this way. This type of therapy can also be a very useful adjunct to whatever medical treatment a client may be receiving from a psychiatrist or family physician.

I must be honest with you. Treatment for these conditions can be lengthy, but there is hope, and many studies have shown that clients can achieve significant improvement by means of it.
